NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- BlackBerry smartphone maker Research in Motion, which has fallen far from its once-dominant position in the industry, is shaking up its executive ranks. The company named Thorsten Heins -- a RIM insider -- as its new chief executive officer, succeeding co-CEOs Mike Lazaridis and Jim Balsillie. Heins was one of RIM's two chief operating officers before his promotion to CEO. He replaces two much-maligned CEOs, who faced growing shareholder angst and analysts' skepticism about the long-serving pair's ability to turn the company around. The CEOs also gave up their co-chairmen titles, but both will remain on the board. Heins said his primary focus will be changing the company's marketing strategy in the United States.
Summary: This short artical states that blackberry has fired there Ceo, and has been replaced by Thornton Henis. There goal is to change the marketing in the united states, to improve blackberry sales and generate more profit while raising there stocks.
Opinion: I personally think this is a joke, they should have fired him a long time ago. The overall worth of blackberry's company has dropped over a million since the crash. I phone continues to come out with new ideas and innovation while blackberry does the same old same old.
